I have often wondered why God allows or requires the Christian journey to be filled with pain, problems, unhappiness and sometimes misery. Why does God put so much emphasis on perseverance, striving for the prize and winning the race like it says in Phllipians 3:14, ” I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Why is the Christian walk a marathon and not a sprint?

I believe that all of the lessons and experiences learned through our lives or the “Iron sharpening iron” moments as mentioned in Proverbs 27:17, the falling down and getting back up, and most importantly, our ability to keep our eyes focused on Him in spite of the adversity set against us…The reason why the Christian walk is a marathon and NOT a sprint is because it ALL about the journey. God looks at how YOU handle the problems of this world…do you give up and walk away from what you are dealing with…or do you get back up and keep forging ahead…The ones that pick themselves up and keep their eyes on Him, those are the people that I firmly believe God has chosen to surround Himself with in eternity. Here is what we, the ones who have persevered, have to look forward to my friends:

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21: 3-5

If that doesn’t get you excited I don’t know what will…

Hey Guys…

And so we begin…

I have wanted to get started with blogging for a very long time. My excuse as to what took so long? Honestly, I think it was procrastination. You know what I mean though right? I just kept putting this off until the next week end and eventually, it turned to December and I was two months behind and still no Blog…So today, I just MADE myself sit down and take care of this once and for all and I have to say the feeling is tremendous.

So whats the plan? Well as Proverbs 27:17 tells us “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” that is the mantra for this blog. I believe that NOW more than any other time in history men need to stand up and be the men God intended them to be. We cannot be silent, satisfied and apathetic. When we do nothing all we care about and love is daily being assaulted and condemned as wrong. Satan is alive and well right now…what are we going to do about that?

The purpose of this blog is to provide men with tools and strategies from the Bible to help them tackle life from a Christian perspective. I am a born again Christian and firmly believe in the Bible as my bread of life. The journey of life is not an easy one and that is why we are not alone. As Christians, we are all in this together an that is how God intended life to be. We are to encourage and strengthen one another along the way.

My goal is to no only write what I have learned but also to have other guest posts from men I look up to as well. Men who are going through the same battles you are right now and have some incredible positives to share from their experiences. God has a plan for you and your family but sometimes we get side tracked along the way…that is the purpose of this blog…By the way, we may have trouble resisting the urge to throw in the sports comments now and then so humor us…

I look forward to what God has in store for all of us as we go along this path…
